Singer
From the very beginning of his career in church music at age 14, Gregory’s performances have been characterized not only by an exceptional vocal quality, but also by the emotional maturity of his delivery. He wants to do more than sing a song; he wanted to communicate the truth.
In 1983, he moved to Nashville to write and perform contemporary Christian music. Within two years, Gregory had co-written a number one song on the charts, a Gospel Music Association Dove Award nomination, and a publishing contract with a major Christian music company. A recording deal was on the horizon. But his plans shifted, and for the next 20 years, he continued to write and perform in local venues, but pursued other vocational interests while searching to find a new spiritual center and .an innovative outlet for his musical gift.
Not surprisingly, the songs he has continued to write center on themes of choice, integrity, authenticity, hope, perseverance, and unconditional love. His public performances are distinguished by moments of epiphany, intimacy, transparency, and vulnerability. Although there is no denying that his voice is huge—exceptionally powerful—Gregory delivers a song with touching honesty. He lives the song each and every time he sings it. He has become a teacher in song as well as a singer, easily sharing his experiences and his heart to audiences everywhere.
In 2007, longtime friend, collaborator, producer and nationally-known “New Thought” recording artist Donna Michael persuaded Gregory to put down on CD the songs that he had co-written and sung extensively in his career. A four-song pre-release, Everlasting Arms, is now available, and they are currently in the studio working a full project, There at the Edge, which is anticipated in the near future.
